Into the Remaining's of Vijayanagara Empire
This is my second visit to the Historic Ananthapuram district of Andhra Pradesh. I visited the famous Lepakshi Veerabhadhra temple last time, but couldn't explore much of remaining's of the ancient and beautiful Vijayanagara Empire. And this time, I am completely satisfied that I could literally travel through the history and lives of famous Vijayanagara Empire.

Digging deep into history always tells us the reason why we are alive in this world today. There are so many places in India which have huge historical importance. Penukonda is one among them. Penukonda town is located in Ananthapuram district of Andhra Pradesh, located 140 kms from Bangalore, Karnataka.

There are more than 365 temples in Penukonda . A swami I met here was so proud to tell me , " Even if you visit one Temple a day , You still can't finish visiting all temples in Penukonda in a year " . I was surprised and excited to hear this and thought in mind at least I should capture half of it in this visit (which was highly impossible ).

The best thing about these temples are, its highly creative and its beautifully planned architecture . The legacy of sculpture, paintings and architecture is still influencing the arts long after the end of Vijayanagara empire .

Currently Penukonda town is in its developing phase. Many multi national companies are setting up there production plant in Penukonda. We can hope that this high level developments doesn't reduce the historical importance of Penukonda town.
